I was parked in a dark alley when the door opened, and Harold entered the car.

"Speak," I told him. "What came up?"

"The murder weapon wasn't a blade," Harold said.

"A knife? How sure are you?"

"Very sure. If a shovel was used, it would have made a noise, one that would have attracted Benjamin who was working out there. The knife was used by someone not skilled with stabbing, so it was definitely the work of an amateur, and they made a mess of killing the children. The police just discovered the murder weapon in Benjamin's house, and the neighbors are talking about seeing a person with a hoodie and black pants running off. It was dark, so a few couldn't see. But one person swore that it was a woman, well covered to conceal who she was. Some also liken this lady to the person that stole the overalls that day."

"Do you know who she is?"

"We are still working on that. But also, if you'd like to know, there's a camera recording. It shows Madeline walking past a shop, and coming back an hour later. Also, a cab driver who doesn't want to be named, swore that he saw a well-concealed lady coming out of that house on that very day, and at that exact time when those girls were killed, only, he didn't see a face. I'll leave the rest for you."

Harold opened the door, and stepped out, leaving me dumbfounded.
